I've been gratified to see how mindfulness progams are now offered in many hospitals for health issues such as weight management, stress reduction etc. As a health provider, I'm passionate about how we can use our own internal resources to improve our health. Even using the positivity ratio which is the ratio of positive thoughts to negative thoughts is powerful. We just need the tools to tap into the power of our minds and hearts. Would love to introduce more people to this area of healing.

Mindfulness is a very important part of life. If you eat mindfully, it can help you lose weight and be healthier. If you take a walk and really look around and use your senses, it helps you to relax and see things in a new way.

I have other tips for living mindfully on my Natural Health website

I agree about the benefits of walking. I am lucky that I live in the countryside and every day, early and late in the evening I walk my dogs. I find beautiful flowers and blossoms, herbs etc every day of the year. In the evening, I have fantastic stars, clouds and wonderful dark skys. Where I am unlucky is that I have recently lost my husband and feel so alone. But, my walks are the best part of my day. If I find a wild orchid, I take it home for my husband's photo, if I see a bright star, its HIM, watching over me. We talk and walk. The beauty of nature can make you cry, but, it does heal, season by season...

Grief is such a painful process to go through. Weaving your ability to appreciate the gifts around you into an offering to the memory of your husband can only ease his way as well as your own. When I lost my dear brother Micahel, I knew that somehow it wasn't a matter of "getting over" the loss but of transforming his essence into the fabric of my everyday life. In this way, he continues to live within my heart in the present moment.

That's the essence of it all, "within my heart". Thankyou for your comforting words.
