Cherokee of GA Pow-Wow was GREAT! The weather was perfect, cool at night and warm during the day. However, I wasn't in the best of shape. My Mother fell at work and shattered her ulna 2 weeks before and I was up in SC helping after her surgery. 2 plates, 8 screws, and 5 nights with no sleep precuded our leaving out for Pow-wow. When we got there, I found a nice dry spot next to the Dance Circle and just collapsed on the ground. I laid there for an hour, being dodged by golf carts and with everyone asking,
"Is she OK?" I was so tired and only able to help in the kitchen twice the whole week. My husband carried the Marine Flag in Grand Entry on Friday. There was a female Navy Vet in buckskin regalia to carry the Navy flag. Our son was in the Marines so it was very appropriate.

We had a great time at the midnight auction and came home with some awesome stuff and an absolute nasty respiratory infection for me. Still barking, and trying to regain some strength.

But it was WORTH IT!!!!

Seems like the PowWow was really nice and fun. That is a great honor to carry the flag. You must have been proud of your husband. So sorry you got that infection. Take care and get some rest. Hope your Mom is felling better.
