Time Management is one of those skills that can revolutionise your business, professional and personal life. As you go through life you're faced with more and more to do in less and less time. Managing time is probably one of the most critical self development issues to keeping sane...and healthy!

I wondered what tips you had (or used routinely) for:

* Getting things done
* Juggling family and work life
* Meeting targets and life goals
* Feeling in control of everything
* Etc

Here's a tip - just before you fall asleep, tell yourself the 3 most important things that you MUST do as soon as you've had breakfast.

The next day, do not let anything interrupt you from actioning those 3 things. So leave the phone on ansamachine, don't get involved in any other activity no matter how small, etc.

By the end of the week you will have achieved significantly more than you ever thought you would by sheer focus!

Hello, Thanks for your post. I think you have given here a good advice for the time management. I planned many things to do in a day but not completed all the work. I think your advice will help me. Regards, Olivia Business Management Training

Hi Olivia, thank you very much for your feedback. You're quite right. People get motivated and with great gusto plan to do lots of things the following day. But then they either get side-tracked onto 'more urgent' things, or they do some 'less important' things first in an attempt to get them going.

The knack is to decide on the 3 things you want to get done the previous day and very importantly, just before falling asleep . Then, in carrying them out before ANYTHING else the following day, this ensures that what you'd intended to do the next day always gets done. (JOY)

I find that simply checking my email can derail my whole plan for the day and keep me from accomplishing the most important tasks. So now I have a couple of concrete items that I MUST do before I even check my email. That way, they always get done. Plus I'm motivated to hurry up and finish them so I can log in and see what my friends are up to! :)

A great tip Dreamingfish! Some people write at the bottom of their emails that they will only be checking them twice a day so if the message is urgent, phone instead. (JOY)
