This past week, I suddenly had to move to another apartment because we had no hot water for a month. I feel like I have been working around the clock for 5 days now, going to work, then coming home to move and unpack until 2:00 AM.

I am run down and a little pale, according to my kids. We had a family get together this evening and I knew I needed to present a healthy and glowing look because cameras always make an appearance. I relied on blush to give me some color.

This week's article is all about blush:

Choosing and Applying Blush

Nice article, Angie. Those are some good tips on applying blusher.

I was told this week that a way to choose a natural color is to make a fist and choose a blush in the color of your knuckles - not the white, but the color beside the color. I tried it and they match my favorite blusher color.

A few years ago on a cruise, the cosmetologist gave a lecture on makeup. She used a mineral powder. She suggested not using a foundation but just taking the big blusher brush and a wee bit of the powder and applying it. The amazing thing was, the look was terrific and easy. It made us all looked tanned and healthy. Do you still see this being done?

I purchased a new brush yesterday - the size reminds me of an old fashioned shaving brush. There are a number of shapes and sizes these days.

Lynne, I have never heard of that before. I will have to check that out when I am doing my make up in the morning.

Angie, in the summer, I just use blush/bronzer and powder, but in the winter, I am prone to skin issues, so I prefer to even my skin tone and cover ickyness with foundation.

I love my brushes! I stumbled on some Sephora starter brush sets at Big Lots! this morning, so I grabbed a few for last minute gifts and to stuff in stockings for my sons' girlfriends.

I would feel strange without my moisturizer first thing.
