the guppies are really cool, but I noticed today that the black one is missing his right fin. He swims just as well as the others tho, so I'm thinking maybe it's been missing since before I got him. Would the Platys take a bite of of the new arrivals??

Hmmm hard tellin I guess its possible, might want to keep an eye on all of them for a few days, eventually though they will most likely all live in there peacefully...fish do have their personalities, might have a platy letting everyone know who's boss.

I have guppies and platies together and they all swim together. In fact, one of the platies always swims around with the guppies. I think she's confused <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> . Also, I'd suggest going with weekly water changes rather than bi-weekly. Platies and guppies are both really hardy, but it will keep them more comfortable with that high of a bio-load. Are you testing the water daily for ammonia and nitrites?

Ok, once weekly it is : ) And yup, my testing kit gets a workout. <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> I think my guppies are as cofused as your platy! They seem to like the female platys lol (the guppys are all boys). I picked up a cory cat today, since one of my shrimp died last week. It's actually really... cute. I didn't expect that! lol
