What do you think the kalama Sutta is about? What does it teach us?

Hi Alexandra, I'm on vacation with my family this week, so I'll dive in more next week when things are more settled - and when I can read this sutra again...In general I know Kalama is where the Buddha discusses personal and direct knowledge and experience as the source of truth - not simply tradition, repetition, reasoning, scripture, etc...

Alexandra, I have not forgotten about this thread. I want to start a series of articles on various suttas/sutras and expand on it over time, so last week I posted an article with an overview of some, and now this week I want to do an article on the Therigatha, Verses of the Elder Nuns, since Monday is International Women's Day. Then I have some book reviews, but after that I will do an article on the Kalama Sutta. Of course we can discuss it now too, but I thought it would be better to tie it to an article, because then I can link to the thread in the newsletter etc....
