Hello,
I have a question, what kind of articles would you like to see, so far I write articles that interest me, but now that I've been writing for about 18 months, it seems more than time to branch out.

Anyone have anything they would like to see or see more of?

Thanks for considering this the poll below is just to get ideas flowing add other topics as replies to this post.

I found all my knitting needles after years of them being packed away. I want to start knitting again. I would like to find patterns for children's caps and sweaters (pullovers), also some Fishermen Knit sweater pattens for myself. I cannot find all the pattern books I used to have.

In the meantime, try Knitty. They have some great stuff. Good luck!

To be honest, I'd like to see an article on the pros and cons of knitting with hand-spun yarn. What do you love about it most? What do you see as possible problems? If you don't have any experience with hand-spun, that is OK too. There are plenty of us spinners you can interview for suggestions. :)

I would also be interested in an article on the use of different types of wool in knitting. So many commercial yarns just simply say "Wool" on the label and give you no clue as to what type of wool the yarn is made up of. There is SUCH a huge difference between ... say, Shetland wool and fine Merino wool. Why don't they label yarn by breed or at least fiber-count? Deb in Alaska

I agree, it would be nice to know the pros and cons of different yarns.

frostygooseAK, I love hand spun yarn and often buy it on Etsy. I think there's something special about buying it directly from the person who spun it.

In fact, yesterday I received some handspun alpaca yarn that was spun especially for me by Julie Petty, who has an Etsy store. I met her on Facebook through our mutual interest in knitting and alpacas and when I asked her if she could spin 2 skeins of one yarn for me, she was glad to do it. Can't wait to use it!

Most of the time the handspun on Etsy is only made in 80 yards or less and you need more to do much of a project.

I just got home from Stitches West, and the amount of yarn I bought, fondled, and ooohed over was immense. I actually had to buy an extra bag to cart it home.

At least yarn is light-lol. I always end up buying yarn whenever I travel. I envy you getting to go to a large yarn type event! Must have been some beautiful yarn there.

There was more yarn there than it is possible to imagine. I was so overwhelmed, but I managed to get some sock yarn, and enough sport weight to make a sweater (in a denim tweed), and some odd bits to finish a baby sweater.

I feel that way in a good yarn store too-overwhelmed! I try to think of projects I have in mind but it's hard to know if I'm getting enough of any one yarn to make something. I used to get one skein of what I liked, now it's two or 3. If I don't get enough, there's no easy way to get more.
