I think I just lost my taste for waffles. I am not supposed to eat sugar or salt. When I first learned this I would go through the store reading every label - frozen, canned, didn't matter. Everything had tons of salt and/or sugar.

It's always something. You're right about too much fat, sugar, salt, and preservatives in prepared foods. It may taste good but it stays with you a long time.

After reading the article I am also thinking to put a stop on frozen food. My reason for eating frozen food is it is handy.

The part: "chemicals released by fridges account for 30 percent of supermarkets' direct emissions" really does it. No more frozen food for me!

Definitely fresh food is healthier for you, I think everyone would agree with that. The issue for people is often cost. In many areas it is much, much cheaper to buy frozen and they just can't afford the fresh versions. Another issue people have is the waste of spoilage. They can't afford to go shopping multiple times a day (the bus or gas is too much for them) so they have to find a way to get veggies that will last.

I am all for fresh food. I'm just saying that our lack of neighborhood farmer's markets and backyard gardens has caused a bad situation for many. If only every town had a farmer's market again, that we could walk to every few days, I think we'd be set!
