Hi, I don't know what to advise. I am really shocked that the parent of (adult) step-children don't step back and observe how the rest of the family is treating the spouse they are married to. Find a mentor and seek counsel. Get a variety of opinions, and then quietly observe how you are being treated. If you are being ignored then you decide what you will put up with. You could accept the behavior as normal and ignore it....or if it really gives you the creeps, and you think these same people would abandon you, or harass you, the moment your husband passes away, then you have some thinking to do. Take care of your future needs yourself if necessary.

dear grrrr, I have no experience about step parenting, but I must say, horrible as all stories in this thread are, yours is especially infuriating because you have to live with the adult SD and put up with her everyday. It boggles my mind that dad doesn't do anything serious about it. I don't know you at all, but I couldn't live like that. I would resent my husband too much. I think I would demand some action from him and if nothing happened I would threaten with a break, going to my parents, moving somewhere else and getting some perspective. Sorry that I cannot be more constructive with this post, but if your husband cannot stand up for you, you need to make him. Best Luck.
