Many people would have ferrets, they are popular, and fun, wonderful pets, and just generally gives you an amazing feeling of contentment. However, some people are turned off by the smell. There is something you can do about the odor; use Marshall Bi Odor Ferret Deodorizer.

Marshall Bi Odor Ferret Deodorizer

Would you consider owning a ferret if they didn't have their musk-like odor? This deodorizer works internally, meaning little feces smell, urine smell, or scent gland smell. (Major scent gland is normally removed but they have many scent glands in the skin).

I had a ferret about 10 years ago. She was very cool and we used to give her a bath every 2-3 days and she didn't smell. I think the hardest part is keeping their cage from smelling. If you can do that they rarely smell.

Other than that they're so much fun. They will run off with your keys, lip balm, or whatever else they can get their little paws on and hide it from you so beware : )

They have scent glands in their skin so it wears off unto their bedding. If you toss this in the wash and put the backup blankets in you've got that part made.

My three stooges

I had to laugh about the part on hiding things. I've gone through my share of that. But, this morning I had an opportunity to watch a ferret hide toys from another ferret.( Being pretty tricky about it too) I got the toys out which makes my ferret Missy very angry. She grabs each one and puts it away. Quinn, another of my ferrets started to circle to where Missy was putting the toys, and would pick one up, go the opposite way, and hide it somewhere else. Each time Missy would drop a toy where she had been putting them and no toys! She looked so distressed.

Sounds hilarious! I can't believe you have three. We only had the one but she was just as rowdy. She would constantly mess with our dogs as well as my friend's Tucan (they stayed with us briefly once).

I remember having to use a wire hanger once to fish out my keys from the compartment that housed the garden tub motor. We also lost her once in the kitchen. She slipped into one of the cabinets and we couldn't find her for hours.

I've been thinking about getting one for my son. They really are a fun pet to have.

I really would consider a ferret if they didn't have an odor. That is the only falling grace.

I actually would never care for a ferret, odorless or not, but not because of THEM. I think they are adorable and great pets if you have the time for them, but they do need a lot of attention consistently, and I just don't think I would be able to handle two of them(I believe all social animals need to have friends no matter how much time you can devote to them)

Yes ferrets need a lot of attention but their social needs arent as profound as other animals. I have had single ferrets (never lasts longer than a week or two they are addicting). I get another ferret then followed by yet another and another. I simply love ferrets and love to have them around me.
They are on fast forward when they are playing. But the majority of the day they sleep. They burn a lot of energy. So actually ferrets make pretty good pets for people who can be around all the time. Taking care one or seven ferrets makes little difference. All my ferrets, except for one, sleeps in the same bed; one of the ferrets curl up (winter now) inside a pair of long underwear britches at the bottom of the cage. The cage still has to be sanitized weekly, cleaned daily, water changed daily, so I see little difference between one, two, or ten. It makes it harder for a non walking person to get around, three little munchkins running up my pant leg, stealing my socks, jumping from where ever to lap. They can be interesting, or is that they never stop being interesting. Here are my ferret articles and pictures of my ferrets. Pet Ferrets
