What is your first impression when you think about a skunk? I have three pet skunks and they are part of our family. They make wonderful pets. They aren't stinky. They can be vaccinated for rabies though a skunk isn't prone to catch rabies than any other mammal. They are sweet and affectionate. Who here has a pet skunk, has had a pet skunk or wants a pet skunk. Baby season is getting close!

My boyfriend had an albino skunk as a child. He loved it dearly and says it was a "great pet." (My boyfriend is a "country boy" and I am a "city girl," so you can imagine my dismay when he first told me of his pet.)

His family must have had a love for exotic pets for his uncle had a Gibeon Ape named "Bango." Bango has been dead for quite some time now and is buried in the family plot.

Me, along with ferrets they are my favorite. I have both and they get along quite nicely. The cats and skunks have some minor disagreements at times. Nothing serious.

I have looked into skunks minimally in the past, but at the time I knew I would never be allowed to get one since I still lived with my mother. I've heard they can be lovely pets, though. I'm not sure if they would bother my ratty crew though, which is my main concern in bringing any animal into my home :P

You really never know how an animal is going to react to another pet coming into the house or vise a versa. I have never had a problem with my skunks getting along with any animal. They have had their quarrels but never injury quarrels.

My cat gave me an interesting warning when I brought my ferret�s home. My cats somehow knew never to hurt an animal I brought into our house; it was part of our family. The ferrets were left alone; however, my cat caught a weasel outside and laid it in front of my door. I always kind of thought about that situation as the godfather and the horses head.

If you start with a baby skunk my skunks have got along pretty well with other pets. I would certainly supervise rats and skunks though.
