Slouch hats are popular right now and I made a couple using a pattern I purchased on Etsy.com. Since they are very popular, I decided to come up with a list of free knitted slouch hat patterns and post them on my blog.

Here's a list of free slouch hat patterns you can find on the internet.

I created this slouch hat pattern for the knifty knitter myself and would love feedback if anybody tries it. It's the first pattern I ever tried to create myself.

Thank you Joan. I have been knitting hats and have been asked for the slouch hat many times. I guess it is really popular among the "young" crowd.
Cheers.

Yes, it is incredibly popular because of the Twilight movies. I made this hat for my daughter and for myself and love it.

You're welcome! I'm finding that it's fun to make up my own patterns. I'm learning that I knit like I cook. I only use patterns/recipes as general guidelines and tend to stray off onto my own way of doing it.

I just started a pair of socks for the Ravelympics and it was a pattern from one of the Vogue sock books. It was challenging because generally when I make socks if things don't go well, I just "make" it work. Weeeeeeellllllll, I decided to change the pattern from cuff down to toe up, then the gauge I got didn't work for my foot, and since the sock I'm making has an all over pattern that had to be adjusted...What started as a personal challenge has evolved into remaking a pattern, etc., I'm not sure I'm up for this, but I'm trying!

Once you're into it tho, it's either scrap it and start over or forge ahead and try to make adjustments! Who knows though, you might just invent something new!

I had that happen when I used to do beadwork. I'd end up with a necklace or something that was nothing like I originally intended but it looked good anyway.
