Hi! I've been searching fruitlessly for a quick and easy lapghan pattern to knit. I'd made one for my mother when she entered the nursing home, and she said that everyone is jealous and wants one of their own, LOL! I told her that I'd love to make more for the other residents, and would try to find the pattern when I got home. I came home today and searched, but can't find the pattern I used for hers. Does anyone out there have one? Thanks!

Here's a free pattern from Lion Brand that says beginner. Sign up with Lion Brand is free.

Great idea to make for those in nursing homes, etc.

I see this calls for a size 50 knitting needles. I've never used any that big! Guess it would be quick though.

The Lion Brand lapghan is beautiful. I'd seen it before, but I'm looking for patterns that are a bit smaller (lap width, long enough to reach the feet) and with no tassles that can get caught up in wheelchairs. I've found one pattern, but it was just sort of typed into a forum with no real instructions other than the row instructions. So I'm having to play with it and see exatly what the author meant. And, silly me, I didn't write down the URL, so I can't go back and ask her what she meant.

You can always adjust for size. And instead of fringe or tassles add extra rows to compensate for their length.

Remember they might like it wide enough to tuck under body just a bit so it isn't constantly falling off. And all body sizes are not the same.

One site suggested 36" x 45". Do a search and look for "Senior Patterns"

Hi sorry, the way to enter a web address using UBB code is " NAME " Replace the caps with the web address and the name of the site and remove the " " marks.

Whoops the other really simple way is to select the symbol of the blue globe with the link looking thing attached above (next to the smiley face directly above this window), and copy in the URL or web address there, then you will be prompted for a name.

Hope this helps.
