BellaOnline Forums Family Step Parenting Trying to be a step mom

I am a step mom to three children. My husband is out of the country and the agreement before he left was that the kids would still be coming to the house regularly because we have two of our own and we wanted them to know this is home too. At first things were going well. The kids were coming over about every weekend and then slowly things started to get worse. She was complaing to my husband that I wasnt sending the kids home in the right clothes. I do send them home in the clothes they came in though and if for some reason I dont I send their other clothes home with them. Right after he left she took all their clothes back to her house. Now Im calling every weekend several times a weekend leaving messages asking if they can come over. I still havent heard anything back and have no idea whats going on. For some reason my husband has decided that this isnt his issue and he doesnt need to get involved. I dont know how it could be any more his issue.. or ours anyways. I dont know what to do at this point. Its really frustrating to feel like Im trying and trying and getting nothing back from ANYONE. I am beginning to wonder if they dont want the kids over here. Any ideas?

pettiness. I would leave it alone and wait till he gets back, so he can deal with it. anything you do will be wrong, anyway.

I agree with the above post. Unfortunately, we as stepparents will always be in the wrong.
