Curvaceous Bodies and Sizing It's not always easy to get the right fit when you're curvy. Jeans may fit your booty, but not your waist... We're discussing how to get great fit. We'd love to know what you do. And don't forget to take the Ethnic Beauty site Curvy Bod quiz. Have fun!

April, Great article!!! My problem is that I'm also tall so it's hard to get a fit for curvy and tall. IF I get the but...the waist is too big and too short. If I go length something else does not fit. Though a tailor has NEVER been in my budget... I tend to leave the clothes in the store. They do have a tall womans store in VA, while the length is great...every other part tends to be too big...plus very rarely do they have any pants under $70.00 most are over $100.00.

Hi Diane,
Thank you!
I must say, you've got me thinking now. I will have to do some research and find out good stuff for our tall beauties. I will also check into solutions that could fit better into a woman's budget and present all of that info in the near future.

Gloria Vanderbilt makes some jeans for women that come in petite, regular and tall that fit very well (I have hips and a butt).
I have found them at Kohl's in their women's plus dept for sizes over 16, and in the regular women's dept for 14 and under. They are made with a bit of stretch in them and I really like the way they fit. (I'm back up into a size 16 plus right now, but have been down into a 14 and was pleased with both types of fits.)

Stretch is always good! Thanks for the info Michelle. I will check them out. Tall is kind of funny though. Most brands carry a tall as a 34. Which fits my husband fine becuase he is more upper body then legs. Now while he is at least 2 inches taller then my 6'tall, I need a 36 in length because I'm mostly legs.
JC Penney used to carry nice tall's but they now seem to think that all tall women want to where polyester elastic waist.

Dianne, thank you for the compliment! And that really is great advice from Michelle-- thanks! I'm going to try those myself since I'm tall with some booty.
