What was the best party you ever attended or heard of? What were the details that wow'd you?

Was it the food? Decor? Lighting? Guests?

And when you host a party, what are your must-haves for a successful event?

I've never really hosted a big party. I do have a rather big one coming up. My boss is retiring after 30 years on the job. She has only been my boss for the past 6 years, but I've loved every moment of it. She is retiring from the library.
