Everyone knows about home-made facemasks with pureed fruit, egg whites, honey and oatmeal, but did you know that with simple provisions from e-bay, or a proper supplier such as justasoap.com, you can put together your own moisturizers, toners, cleansers and soap with real ease? I stopped using shop-bought cosmetics when I realized it was cheaper, more effective, healthier and incomparably more natural to make my own. And no, you don't need to add lots of chemicals; a basic lip-balm, of instance, is nothing more than a combination of beeswax, cocoa butter, essential oils, and a little honey! Anyways, if anyone's interested in learning more, I'd be more than happy to post up a few links. Also (and feel free to tell me off if I'm not supposed to be doing this) I'm looking for test-bunnies to try out a few of the cosmetics I'm making. All stuff that's safety assessed, approved, and already tested on myself and my friends and family, but, you know, broaden the base. PM me if you're interested in free goodies! Or, you know, to tell me off for posting this. His_Einna

This sounds great! I still have a Family Circle Magazine from the 1970s that my grandmother had with recipes for face masks and moisturizers. The older I get the less chemicals I want to add to my skin!

Absolutely, especially with things like foundations and moisturizers, things that get into your pores. Think in terms of; "what I put into my skin stays there...do I want to put gunk and chemicals in?"
