Barack Obama gets an 'F' for protecting Americans

EXCERPT: Yes, the buck stops in the Oval Office. Obama may have rather smugly given himself a �B+� for his 2008 performance but he gets an F for the events that led to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab boarding a Detroit-bound plane in Amsterdam with a PETN bomb sewn into his underpants. He said today that a �systemic failure has occurred�. Well, he�s in charge of that system.

It's because the priority of this administration is passing a health care bill no one wants, not keeping America safe from a threat he believes doesn't exist anyway. Apparently all the apologizing he's done to the rest of the world for the evils of America haven't done much to make everyone love us.

Obama has spent most of this time in office so far traveling the world, spending little time in the White House taking care of America's security, what can anyone expect?

I thought it was very telling that it took him 3 days to make a statement about the event. His staff woke him up in the middle of the night to tell him about his "peace prize" but apparently they felt this wasn't important enough to interrupt his vacation.

I see a lot of negativity directed at Obama on different forums and as comments on Facebook and to blogs. Where were all these negative people during the elections?

Well, let's hope they show up in droves in '10 and '12 . . .

In fairness, was Bush blamed for 9/11?

I assume you mean by those other than the "Truthers." The two situations are not comparable. Clinton was blamed, by some, for 9/11, because he, like Obama, continued to view the problem of terrorism as a law enforcement issue, even after Osama bin Laden declared war on the U. S. in 1996.

As I have stated before, this President will get us all killed because he refuses to admit that we are fighting terrorism by radical Islamists. These people hate our way of life and what we stand for and plan on destroying us, no matter how long it takes. The Cold War was not ended in a short period of time and neither will this. We have to be committed for the long haul and the government has to be honest with the American people as to what we are facing and how we are going to handle it.
