My parents were traditionalists. Every year we got the same things. A Hershey bar with almonds. A Lifesaver's Sweet Story Book. A packet of dried figs. Candy Canes. And a pack of pencils with our names on them in gold lettering. What about you?

In the stocking? I can't remember - I used to get different things every year. I remember getting an Orange one year and finding it funny - I've always remembered the bigger presents like a bike, or just the great feeling in the air around Christmas

There was always a piece of fruit--orange or apple--and some nuts, candies, a few dollar bills. We also got new toothbrushes and mini-bottles of lotions. There were only girls so we got a lot of toiletries. Combs, brushes, chapsticks and glosses. A bracelet maybe.

We're adults now and we still get stockings at my mom's place. The fireplace is crammed with over 20 stockings now with all the grandkids and in-laws. Santa's a gem.
