AARP endorses the new health care bill. The link below may help sort out many of the distorted ideas regarding the cost of reform, what reform offers to the elderly as well as for future generations.

I know a lot of people who say they are going to give up their membership in AARP as a result of this. Whether they do or not, I cannot be sure, but they are voicing their dissatisfaction. I also read today that Reid may be in trouble in his home state as the citizens there do not want to sign on to this health care reform package.

AARP has been supporting the rights and welfare of people over fifty for many years. The reasons for their support of this bill
boils down to good health care at reasonable cost. It prohibits insurance companies from excluding people with pre-existing conditions, creates affordable prescription plans and according to their best research does not rob peter to pay paul - which means we are not tapping into future generations' financial security. Since they opposed, quite vocally, several previous versions of this reform bill it seems that they have given their support with a great deal of thought for the people they represent - perhaps moreso than the politicians involved.
