Just finished beading some of my Christmas beadworks, one of which is this little one inch tall 3D Santa Claus Charm which I will hang on my bag this Christmas season!

I made it using triangle weave beading technique which is one of the deviation from right angle weave technique.

Here's the free tutorial just finished at: 3D Beaded Santa Charm Tutorial

See all my Christmas Beadwork at: Christmas Beadwork

Thanks for looking!

I took a beading class (jewelry) and I'm still in touch with the instructor. She suggested we meet periodically and do some beading. I don't know that she does this type of bead work but I think it is fascinating. I really need to work with someone - I'm better as a show and tell person - although I can follow patterns. I just find that so far I haven't gotten the hang of this type of bead work. It is lovely.

I have an evening bag and the strap is worn. I figured I could replace it with gold chain and ribbon but a red flower or other clip on design like you have would be a fun addition to dress it up.

HI Angie,

You could chieck with your instructor and show her the site, probably she could guide you through the beading. or Start learning online like me, I started with the basics of Right Angle Weave tutorial which I found online, then started to play around it to make things 3D with the stitch.

You could start with the easier projects on the same site, like the beaded cross or 3d heart.
For Christmas, try the easy crystal snowflake pendant tutorial which is the same type of stitch but flat, great opportunity to practice the stitch!

Happy Beading!

Thanks, glad you liked it! I don't sell anything so thay's why you don't see a buy button.
You can use any size of beads you like but the smaller the bead the smaller the finished beadwork and if you are using bigger beads, make sure you increase the length of the string accordingly. Also remember to use one or two bead size bigger black and red beads for the eyes and nose!

Happy Beading!
