I am working on Vanna White's Tassled Afghan out of her Color it Beautiful Afghan book. I am needing a couple points clarified. The directions for Row 1 are: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and next 7 ch, (3 dc in next ch) twice, *dc in next 7 ch, (dc3tog) twice, dc in next 7 ch, (3 dc in next ch) twice, rep from * across to last 10 ch, dc in next 7 ch, dc3tog- 8 ripples. My question is when it says twice, does that mean only everything from before the ( )? Does it also include the 3rd ch from the hook?

Since there are commas, my guess would be the twice is in reference to the parenthesis. I'm sure others will join in. Hopefully I'm not leading you in the wrong direction.
