today while playing fetch with the dogs at the lake I saw a gorgeous brown shouldered bird of prey fishing, with her wide white tail spread. It is always a treat to see the baldies at play here.

How exciting to see such beauties! I saw two Golden Eagles a little while ago. One was dive-bombing, must have spotted something to catch.

Maybe she has a message just for you, Wendy.
I have not seen our Quail for several days. With the cold weather, maybe their daily routine has changed some. I did see a Hawk early today.

I saw a Crow sitting in the pine tree out back. He sounded rather perturbed because it is snowing! A very wet snow that started out as heavy rain.

Heard my eagle today but did not see her...plenty of American Coots and Canada Geese on the lake though.
Saw a white breasted Hawk sitting in the trees while we were riding by on the motorcycle...my guess would be a Shinned Hawk as it had dark shoulders and some barring lower on his belly.

Saw a bald eagle again....however, this time at work, swooped over my car as I pulled in then perched on the roof across the parking lot.
Way too many eagles now to not take notice. A mentor said it can signify a death...and probably in my case it is my moving from SC back to NH with the Navy in a few short weeks. Course I do hope that it is a "death" and not a literal one.

This morning I saw the largest Black Hawk I have ever seen. Usually it is the smaller Desert Hawks I see. This guy was huge!

Just got back from SC. My daughter also had a hawk's nest nearby this past summer, and one perched in a pine tree while I was outside this weekend. Saw several osprey while traveling along I-95. The number of nests visisble from the interstate in the Altamaha waterfowl refuge area has significantly increased over the years.

That is good to know about the increase of nests. That is a good sign!
