These emails seem to offer the smoking gun that the whole Global Warming/Climate Change issue is a hoax: Alex Jones on Climategate -- youtube

There's another from John Stossel on 20/20 two years ago. It's a shame that this is now what children are being taught in school. Man (Capitalism) is responsible for global warming or the new catch phrase - climate change. It's laughable and now we have scientists being caught covering up and falsifying data. It's such a big deal now that it has to be covered up and lied about since so many people have proclaimed it a global issue. What a farce!

Information can be massaged or spun to sway people one way or another. The media plays a tremendous role in swaying public opinion by the way news stories are presented. This is an age-old problem. Unfortunately, people don't discuss the stories and search for other opinions and get the true or better picture of what is really happening.
Global warming has been going on for centuries. Half of No. America was covered with ice once. When I was in school I remember the science teacher talking about the importance of the Amazon rain forest insofar as protecting the climate of the world. The trees were what prevented the climate from changing drastically. Then the deforestation began and now we have concerns about global warming.

I think it very dangerous to negate such global concerns such as climate change. There are scientific facts out there that prove the earth is heating faster than ever before in recorded history. Core ice samples have shown the effects of pollution and carbon to be accelerating the rise in temperatures and the perma frost is diminishing. Ignoring these facts for any sort of political gain is just plain ludicrous.
Get real people this effects us all and regardless of political party and whatever political nonsense you wish to serve global climate change is real.

Proof that the climate is changing faster than ever before was a PBS documentary by scientists that had no political agenda. This was back in the 1970's so I cannot remember names etc but it certainly was long before such concerns became political. Even back then these scientists were questioning human's role in these accelerating changes. At the time they made no such conclusions.
Forward in time another PBS documentary new ice core samples were found to contain many pollutants, PVC, dioxin, DDT, etc., and large quantities of carbon the beginnings of such were traced back to the early 1900s (maybe late 1800s) related to the coal explosion. The incremental increase in carbon in these core samples (which can be carbon dated back thousands of years) since then seems to point to a rather obvious source which of course is human beings.
Ignoring such facts is foolish and whether or not this indicates, beyond question, the toll humans have placed and continue to place on the planet is also fool hearty.
It seems only sensible to take care with the planet that sustains us and any sort of indication that we are impacting our life source should bring changes to improve the things we can.
Declaring these concerns as a hoax is irresponsible and serves no one other than the continuing partisanship that seems to define our country more than anything else right now.

This was back in the 1970's In the 1970s all the rage was "Global Cooling": here's a Newsweek article from 1975: The Cooling World And here is the best explanation for the current inaccuracies regarding the so-called Global Warming science by Richard S. Lindzen, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology: Global Warming: The Origin and Nature of the Alleged Scientific Consensus

The above linked article is from 1992 and there has been more evidence since then to point toward a definite human impact.

I have no doubt that I could find just as many articles, you tubes etc to counter those you have listed above. I understand that it is a good thing to hear both sides. To those of us that choose to worry that we are impacting the world only good can come of it. We reduce, reuse and recycle. We embrace organic farming, better quality air, renewable energy, no more habitat devastation in search of gas and oil, no more oil spills that devastate the oceans, the list goes on.
I'm sure that there of those out there that despite the dispute also do their best to better the health of the planet. However any hint that climate change is not effected by humans and too many others get back into their Hummers and drive with abandon.
I know I would rather have cleaner air, water and land and if we don't get control of the use of fossil fuel we will never have that.
