BellaOnline Forums Hobbies and Crafts Knitting Any one have used acrylic knitting needles?

I have ever heard of the acrylic crochet hooks, like this one:

And i got to know that the acrylic hooks are lighter and smoother compared with other materials, but i have never saw some knitters using acrylic needles, would it be too smooth to knit?
What about your opinions about the �acrylic knitting needles� ? if you have the knitting experience of acrylic needles, please kindly let me know.

I always look at reviews on Amazon but didn't see any for acrylic knitting needles. Joanns has a couple 5 star reviews of the Susan Bates acrylics.

In my town a store called Beverly's has them and I think I saw them at Michaels.
