When at a funeral, wedding or any type of gathering,as an atheist do you bow your head when all the rest do?

I go to said events to support the family in time of need or celebration. I refuse to bow my head - not out of disrespect, but because ~ well, for what?? I don't say the prayer or even listen to it. I look around to see if anyone else is looking around.....

Again, I am not being disrespectful, and I am not a hypocrit, so why do something I don't believe in.

Well personally, I think, unless you're trying to prove a point - I would personally bow my head out of respect for the family and friends that are in pain. You're there anyway, you have to listen to the prayer, if you see what I mean. You don't have to believe in anything - but it's kind of like saying, why should I go in a church? If you're there to support someone, doesn't that go with it? Just my opinion

I don't listen to the prayer. I'm thinking how rediculous it is to talk to the 'fairy in the sky' and how the time could be spent on something else.

I am respecting the family by being there.
