I just posted my first two articles. One is a review of some of Urban Decay's products, one is tips for choosing your foundation. I hope they are helpful!

I'd like to hear from everyone about what kind of foundation you use and why.

In the summer, I use nothing or a tinted moisturizer. This past summer I tried Laura Gellar Barely There tinted moisturizer SPF 20 in light tone. It worked well with a very light coverage and glow. Unless something else catches my eye, I will most likely purchase it again in the spring.

For the cold months, I am using a mousse foundation. I prefer a lighter coverage even in the winter and I am very blessed to have a nice complexion, so I don't need heavy coverage. I am trying Avon Beyond Color Line Softening Mousse in nude.

I love Urban Decay - they have such fun stuff to play with! You are right about their primers, though - not worth it. Personally I don't think any of their "under" stuff is worth the price, but their colors are fantastic. I definitely go with someone else for primer, foundation, and coverups.

You talk about yellow, pink and orange hues in the foundation article - but very few companies use these terms. Most foundations say "warm" "cool" or "neutral" - how do these compare to the colors?

Thanks, Michelle.

Those colors can be found in all the warm, neutral, and cool shades that companies use in their descriptions.

The orange ones are stand outs, especially in the low priced cosmetics. I generally see elderly women wearing those, with a clear line at their jawline, so the face is orange looking and the neck is white. If you are ever looking at Maybelline, the honey beige and toffee shades have orange undertones and are in the warm palette.

Pink tones are usually in the cool light and neutral light shades.

If you look at the Urban Decay site, all their liquid foundations have yellow undertones. They are mostly neutrals, with "Fair" leaning toward cool and "Vision" toward warm.

I hope that makes sense. Undertones are what balance and blend with your skin color.
