Hey guys, I just finished up my latest free e-book - 7 Secrets to Finding the Best Homeschool Curriculum.

It features some really good interviews from people like unschooler Sandra Dodd, Sarita Holzmann (of Sonlight) and Catherine Levison (A Charlotte Mason Education). It also has some great info about homeschooling high school and homeschooling special needs students.

Anyway, it is free and easy to download, you just go to this page and click on the e-book graphic:

We use Abeka for math and language arts, and for the rest we just read books and study the info from our co-op.

We are in a co-op called Classical Conversations. Here's a video I made about it:

I'm not participating in Classical Conversations, although the other families in my area who do are completely happy with it. It's too pricey for a huge family, IMHO. I have students in 1st, 3rd, 5th, 10th, and 11th grades. So our curriculum varies to meet the needs of the individual child.

I have been around the block a time or two (or three or more). What sort of curriculum are you using? I want to incorporate a weekly hands on unit - it's just one of those things that fall by the wayside. I think it's important for students to make these sort of connections. I need a little push! I am also (over the X-Mas break) have the boys do some audio "interviews" and post it online.

I like the audio "interview" ideas! Neat! Where will you post it? I do alot of unit studies...I use Houghton-Mifflin Socail Studies, and I do extra units to go with that. I use Harcourt Math, Chapter Books for Reading and Language Arts, and alot of misc. materials...maybe I should start a thread on curriculum here?! ...
