WOW- great article! Thanks for posting. Being a teacher, what hit me was when she said that traditional schooling took away her creativity. That is an intense line! I am so frustrated with the stupid system of gifted education in our schools. I will never understand how each state decides if they will have a mandatory program and then if they will fund that program. It is nuts! I have taught in a few different states and I found Alaska doing the best because of all the pipe-line money [which will be going away someday and then the gifted program will too]. Other than that state, it is the school who has the richest parents who really push for a program and then throw money at the school to get a program going. There are so many truly gifted children who are not getting their needs met in school. I love the Davidson Institute's resources, but I wish there were others out there like it.
