It's actually not a bad idea. Think about it. This is the time of year when there are homecoming events, football and basketball games, and other fun things to do.

Go to the websites of the schools on your short list of possible schools.

Check for links to athletics, and events. It's always a good idea to touch base with the admissions office, too. They might be able to arrange for a tour or at least give you dates when group tours are available.
