i am making a hippo and i have everything finished but the muzzle and the pattern says chain 7 sc in 2nd chain from hook 6 single crochet chain 2 6 single crochet chain 2 where am i making the 6 single crochet after i make the single crochet in the second chain from hook thats where i am confused

The 6 sc are in each of the sc following the 2nd chain from the hook. (Although, you'll only have room for 5 more sc, so the "sc in 2nd ch from hook" will be counted to make 6.) What I don't understand is why the pattern asks you to "chain 2" for each row (I'm guessing you must turn the work at each chain 2) when sc's are only equivalent to ch 1. ~Kelly H.

I've made this Hippo and what you are doing with these stitches will create the front of the muzzle/"mouth". Do as the pattern states and work in the stitches made by the first ch7. sc in 2nd chain from hook, the next 6 sc are made in each chain, the ch 2 forms the turn at the corner of the "mouth", 6 sc across the chain 7, ch 2 "corner of mouth", mm Move Marker.
