As jewelery comes in many styles and types, knowing how to clean jewelery properly is extremely important to making it last for years. While just throwing it into a jar of commercial jewelery cleaning solution is the easiest answer, this isnt always the safest and most effective method.

The most important thing to consider in cleaning jewellery is the type of metal that the particular piece is made from. As every metal has different properties, each should be cleaned with solutions that will not damage the metal. Here are some tips for cleaning the most popular metals that are used in finer jewelery.

This is an excellent question for me to consider right now - I am emptying out my storage and just found a TON of costume jewelry i forgot i had. I really don't want to keep them, as I have so much already and my tastes have changed.

So i need to figure out the safest ways to clean them and then plan how to sell them.
