I loved Patrick Swayze - did you know he sang the "She's Like the Wind" song from Dirty Dancing? He was such an expressive actor. He just passed away from cancer.

What was your favorite Swayze movie?

I just loved Patrick Swayze! It's sad to be taken so young. I am so glad that he got tospend the last of his acting career doing the series "The Beast" in the city he loved-Chicago. Chicago claims him as our own!

I liked the Roadhouse, and of course Dirty Dancing, but then theres Ghost..........

Dirty Dancing is definitely my favorite, but I also LOVE Roadhouse and Ghost. I can never hear the song "These Arms of Mine" without remembering the scene in Roadhouse when it is played.

The only thing that bothers me about the way the media covered his death was that I didn't hear any mention of his very long marriage. I know we shouldn't find it surprising, but Hollywood Marriages being what they are, I would have liked it if they had at least touched on the fact that he was married to the same woman for so many years.

I did like Dirty Dancing and Roadhouse a lot and saw both numerous times. I know both are a little 'campy' but they really appealed to me as being about fairly real people. I did see Ghost once but not as many times as the others.

Helen - you're right. The media shouts loudly about unfaithful stars - but then ignores people like Patrick who stayed with his wife since 1975. He deserves praise.

Dirty Dancing is a classic - and I grew up in Westchester, NY, where they set the film. So it is very nostalgic for me.

While I liked Road House and Black Dog, one of my fave movies with him was "Next of Kin" which also starred Liam Neeson and Helen Hunt.

I don't think I've ever seen Next of Kin, Vance - and I like Liam Neeson. I'll look for that, thanks!

Jilly - did you know Dirty Dancing was actually filmed near Roanoke, Virginia? smile And that "Baby" was 27 years old??? smile Nobody puts a 27 year old in the corner!

Nobody puts a 41 year old in a corner either! heeheehee

Yeah, I was thinking it wasn't actually in Westchester, but the plot said it was and that made me happy. :-) Plus the whole 'camp thing.' I was at summer camp every year of my life from about 9 years old til 17. :-)

Hi Everyone, A & E is now running a quick 30 minute bio., and they are also re-running the show "The Beast" that he did last.
He still looked good (the wear is noticeable)but I still loved him- he had that voice you recognized, and his toughness was still there!
