I'm looking for a writing program (computer based) for my 6th grader. He has a variety of issues (Asperger Syndrome, Chiari 1 Malformation, Mitochondria Disorder, Aphasia, Irlen Syndrome, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, etc., etc.), but writing is especially hard due to his dysgraphia and processing speed issues. The only recommendation we've had so far is for "Inspiration." We looked at it online and it didn't appeal to him. He may be in 6th grade, but he's 10 and a very active and visual learner; but likes sound effects too. We've thought of just getting "Dragon Naturally Speaking" and encouraging him to tell his imaginative stories directly to the computer. But while that helps him with the actual writing of the story, it doesn't teach the writing mechanics. Thoughts?

Hi Lynn,

First of all, it's good to see you back at BellaOnline!

I don't know of any computer writing programs myself.

Readers, can you help us out?!
