I bought some stuff that was supposed to clean/protect the dashboard. Except, it got so slippery and shiny ( 1) couldn't see because the sun was shining on it and (2) my coffee cup keeps sliding across the dashboard. I am pretty sure it was Armor - something. Any suggestions?

I am not sure about AmorAll. I have heard it's actually not good for the vinyl. But maybe someone can check at Snopes.com to see if that one is a myth.

LOL Diana I have a similar story, I had dust on my inside windshield so I grabbed a wipe and wiped it down. I think it was leather cleaner I used, and the next time I drove in the rain the headlights were hitting it and completely blinding me! I had to make my way to a CVS and buy some windex I use some generic wipe now for the vinyl dashboard areas, I'll have to look at what it is. Generic seems to work fine for me

I keep a container of baby wipes in my car for the dash/door/console areas and wipe things down at red lights or in bad traffic. I also have one of those car duster thingies.
Babywipes are also great for your hands but I try not to wipe the steering wheel with them - the slipperiness would make it unsafe while driving.

Windex wipes are good for the sterring wheel. They have alcohol in them so it dries out quicky and makes it easy to grasp.

good to know, thank you!
I LOVE wipes. They may not be the most eco-friendly, but they sure do keep my life cleaner. :-)

I have to agree on the wipes. At home you guys were very good and got me converted over to microfibers so I'm using FAR less towels in the house. I think it a fair enough tradeoff to keep using wipes in the car where they are quick, convenient, and keep the car clean so I stay healthy. I really don't think it would work to carry microfiber cloths in the car and sprays and try to bring fresh cloths in and out of the house.

I use Armor All Protectant Wipes instead of the spray. Follow this link to read some reviews from epinions. Personally, I Love the wipes.
