I joined this group about a month ago with a pattern problem which Carla solved quite quickly. My latest project is making 'Chemo Caps' in various colours and crochet patterns. I will send them all to my sister and she will take first pick and turn the rest over to 'the cause' at her next chemo treatment. I had started by using acrylic yarn left over from some finished project, but I've recently learned how important it is to use 100% cotton yarn. Some patients develop skin irritation from the acrylic touching their skin. Not all patients develop this problem, but why take a chance?

That is great. A great project for a great cause especially with winter coming up. Would love to see some pictures of the caps. Perhaps it will inspire others to give of their time and talent to give in ways this season. smile

What a nice idea, Carla. I've already mail two away, but when I make more, I will definitely take some pix. I'm also looking online for a (free) pattern for a crocheted cardigan. I found a gorgeous one in the latest Mary Maxim catalog, but it was way too expensive.

Tks, Carla. I already have the site, 'Crochet Pattern Central' but I'm reading the review. I started it, and learned the term plarn, I'll go thru it some more, and perhaps pick up something else. I have 2 photos of hats I made, now I have to see if I can post them. If anyone has any hints about pix, let me know.

Oh Pamela Sweetie I'm having lots of fun! One cyber friend is also crocheting a cap or two and another, who doesn't crochet, has already finished knitting 2 caps! I've sent 3 so far, and last night, bought enough crochet cotton for at least 4 more! I plan to bring those to my sister in person when I see her in October. These are the two of the caps I've made so far. I hope this works.
