I was having a conversation with a close friend, and she believes that all humans have the choice between kindness and cruelty, even Light Workers. That Light Workers can become Dark Workers.

I disagree - I believe that Light Workers are only capable of working from the light (with human foibles intact, but without malicious intent) because they have come here with a very specific purpose - to make the world a more balanced and loving place.

Does anyone know for sure? Can Light Workers choose to become Dark Workers?

I believe that balance is in every person. Even if someone is meant to work from and for the light, doesn't meant they have to. They have a choice to ignore or even reject those talents given to them.

Take me, for example - I was given a very strong gift for music. At a young age I was able to sit down at the piano and do pretty much anything, I can sing, I can dance - if music is involved - I can do it. Yet I ignored those talents for many years and let them lay dormant and fallow. Now I am having to struggle to get back what once was so easy for me. I believe this is my lesson in "do not take things for granted".

Of course, I did not turn to darkness, so it is not quite the same thing - but it can be extended.

Since light and dark potentials exist in all people - then they have the option of choosing which way to go. If you say that someone was sent here with a specific purpose and that they have no choice in the matter - then you are saying they have no free will.

Hm. Yeah, my perspective is completely different. Also, that we aren't sent here, but arrive by choice and mission.

I understand your talent reference, but for me, this is a completely different thing. For me, a soul is what it is. Each individual life-form can only experience a specific spectrum of choices. If a soul's seed comes from the light, it can never turn completely dark. It can ignore it's purpose and perhaps lean toward cynicism, but will probably suffer for it. But I don't believe it has darkness within it's spectrum of choices. If a soul is completely dark (a dark worker), it is capable of diabolical acts, but not saintly ones. It may choose to curb its acts, but not become a Light Worker.

Like, an apple tree will always be an apple tree - it will never be a walnut tree or a bird or a stone. Until its form dies, it will always be an apple tree, whether it bears fruit or only blossoms or only leaves. A Nordic Viking will never be a Congo Pygmy - they are just different life forms, with different purposes.

This would be different from talent. I don't see Light Work as a an ordinary human talent, but a soul purpose. Again, the Nordic Viking may be a striking hunter, just as the Congo Pygmy might have the same talent, but one cannot be the other. Any person may have a specified spectrum of talents (or kind or cruel deeds) to choose from, and practice none or all as they choose, but one person, one soul, cannot be another.

One simply cannot be what it is not, IMHO. smile

I suppose I can see from your POV that a person would not have the capabilities to become a dark worker (or light worker) because those abilities are just not a part of their makeup.

However, I do think any person still has the choice to NOT use whatever gifts or talents are available.

That person may be very miserable and lost for most of their life - but many people rail against the fact that they have a destiny or purpose. It is only when they accept the purpose meant for them that they truly find peace in their heart.

Hello... It's been a while since I've visited this forum. This conversation is fascinating and have been thinking about something like this for a while. Though I find what you say very interesting Shannon, I think Michelle has a point about choosing to use your gifts or not. I know some people that have fallen off "the path" from some very disturbing things that have happened in their lives and have chosen a darker way of living. It's very sad and yet they have it within them, I think it's just lost. And they're too buried to find it again. The opposing shades of Light and Darkness has always made me stop and think about humanities purpose here. Is that it? Do we keep coming back until we have the light in our heart or if it isn't meant to be and a soul is supposed to serve darkness, can they never see the light? Sure a viking could never be a pigmy but from they're perspective they weren't bad people, they were just in search of a new home and plundering was a way to do it. But form the priests perspective they were vile and wicked men who stole their land from them. So is it a matter of perspective?

Geez, this is getting deep. Anyway sorry for butting into your conversation...I better go have a second cup of coffee!

No you aren't butting in! This is an open conversation for everyone (at least it is as far as my forum is concerned, and I'm sure Shay wants more opinions than just mine, LOL!)

Yes, of course, I'm more than interested in everyone's POV - thank you, Michelle and Bastcat. smile

I completely agree that gifts and talents can go unused - and that some, if not most people can stray from a chosen path of "goodness." From my understanding, Lightwork isn't a choice one makes from a list of choices, but is a fundamental purpose seated in the soul. A Lightworker can become discouraged with the never ending darkness in the world, which seeks to trip them up and even destroy them, but joining the darkness is not an option.

It is my belief and experience that even in the face of horrible pain and disturbing circumstances, true Lightworkers (which are in the same family as Earth Angels - also incapable of ungodly acts) can only act from the light. They can experience depression and illness, but are not capable of committing hanous crimes against another person or entity. Mostly, they will take all events in life as lessons, and make the very best of every situation. They can go into hiding and not use their lightwork for periods of time, but their presence among others will always have an effect - they don't necessarily have to *do* anything in particular. But many are active healers and speakers, living very public lives.

On the other hand, the average citizen appears to have the choice between light and dark actions. Everyone I've ever talked to believes that everyone has equal parts of "good" and "evil" in them. What compels people to agree that this is true? Am I missing something, or is everyone admitting that they are truly capable of horrific acts, yet are constantly guarding themselves? If this is true, it is no wonder that Lightworkers are prone to hiding out and illness...

I think I understand what you're talking about, Shay. Like Mother Theresa, Ghandi, even Princess Diana who devoted their lifes work to helping people. It was just "in" them. Verses say Hitler, who just breathed, ate and slept evil. Perhaps they are here/were here to inspire or teach us, regular citizens--although though... I do think within us we have can have a greatness or equal darkness. And never know when we are going to be called upon to use it. It's sometimes the everday person that can herald some incredible miracles or deep, disturbing acts. Say the husband that seems normal and then goes through a wicked divorce and ends up murdering his family and anyone else in the way.

The old religions had multiple gods in a way for reason of teaching light and darkness. The Egyptians didn't have an evil god to "have an evil god" but their Set was a way to say this is in the world and without it we wouldn't understand/feel the goodness, the rightness, the light that is around us. Maybe like the child that gets everything but can't appreciate it unless they understand what it is like to not have.

Hmmm maybe I'm rambling but I love this topic.

Hmmmm, that is a good question.

I know that as for myself I have some very dark emotions/ thoughts in me. I won't say I have to fight against them - it is more that I chose long ago to walk a path to be "good" or at least as good as I can possibly be. But I have a horrid temper, and I do battle with Bi-Polar and when I am in one of my manic phases it is almost like a Jeckyll/Hyde thing.

But I had very loving people in my life to bring me up. My parents maybe did not make some so-great decisions, but I had a wonderful grandmother and grandfather who taught me the true meaning of love.

Had I been brought up by drug addled, abusive parents - I might not have chosen the same pth I walk. Or possibly God (or destiny) would have brought another loving mentor into my life. I honestly don't know.

Consider Charles Manson - according to Wikipedia:
Quote:
Born as no name Maddox Manson was born to unmarried, 16-year-old Kathleen Maddox in Cincinnati General Hospital
And
Quote:
According to Manson, his mother, alleged to be an alcoholic, once sold him for a pitcher of beer to a childless waitress, from whom his uncle retrieved him some days later

Had this child been born to a mother who cherished him and a father who fought ot keep him instead of fighting to say he wasn't his - then maybe Sharon Tate would be alive today.

I guess what I'm saying is that people aren't good and evil, but they have the capacity for good or evil - and every choice we make has consequences one way or the other.

Very interesting topic.

Lightworkers are people who have chosen to seek spiritual knowledge and have made the choice to do their part to assist Earth and Mankind in their ascension. Their work (as I was told by an old friend who was an original Lightworker) is mainly with children. The term Lightworker has expanded over the years to mean whatever a particular group or individual wants it to mean in relation to their purpose.

I believe that Lightworkers are here for one purpose only - to help others awaken to their spiritual path and to guide home the souls that are lost or confused upon passing from Earth. As with any other person, Lightworkers would have the capacity in their minds for choice, but, in their hearts they are committed to working on the good side. Even Jesus was given a choice, and put to the test, to follow Satan or stay on His spiritual path. Because of His high spiritual status, Jesus was able to overcome any temptation. Satan himself was at one time one of God's favored Angels, until he (Satan) fell from Grace because he chose to go to the dark side.

There are differing levels of humans on Earth and Lightworkers are on a higher level than the normal human. Being on a higher level, they are stronger in spirit and more capable of resisting the dark side.

I knew a Lightworker, Helen, many years ago. When I asked her how she became a Lightworker, her answer was, "We become Lightworkers when we make the conscious choice to begin our spiritual path and assist others in ascension and help their souls to find peace. We mainly guide the souls of children to pass through the veil to eternal light."
