I need help finding two books that I read when I was younger. The first book is about a woman named Juliet and one of her hands is scarred. She thinks she's in love with a guy named Thomas( i think). She stows away on a ship with a captain who has a panther. His sister makes her a glove to hide the scar on her finger and hand. Juliet waves a flag that makes the ship she had once stowed away on keep from docking because they think the area is under quarantine and she doesn't want them to be captured. This is all I can remember about the book. The second book is about a young woman whose uncle forces her to be apart of an auction where she is put in a blonde wig then sold to the highest bidder. The uncle knocks the man who bought her out but not before he sees that the girl has dark hair. The girl goes into business with her mother whose name is Aurora and is married to a duke. They end up doing business with the man who originally bought the woman at the auction and they marry. This is all I remember of this book. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for title/author... Young woman is a stock broker who will be marrying her boss to get $$ to pay for father (also a stock broker)'s bad choices. She's in AZ for a conference, takes off in a rental car for 2 weeks of fun before marriage for $$. Car breaks down...ends us in a rural bar...bartender is really owner of big resort down the road where conference of stock brokers will be held. Appreciate any help in relocating this one.

I'm afraid neither of these sounds like anything I recognize.
