My 3 kitties are basically the same, but at the same time so very different. My little girl Xena who is almost 3 loves to sit on my leg while I'm on the computer. In fact, that's about the only time she's that close to me...unless I have cheese in my hand. Simba, my 2 year old polydactyle loves to be between me and the pc screen as well as being my constant companion when sitting on the couch or chair. Rocky, my 1 year old tuxedo is extremely lively in the mornings, loves to lay on the covers between my knees and is always putting a paw over me some where. When sitting in the recliner he lays on the arm with my arm around him keeping him from falling off. Rocky and Xena will eat from my hand but Simba won't. Rocky loves to lay on the window ledge for his afternoon nap while Xena and Simba share my bed. It's great to be loved by furballs

Cats! One of my favorite subjects. Hubby and I have four cats: two older ones and two younger ones. And as different as they are in personality and appearance, they came to us -- they are all rescues in one way or another.
Brainball is our big orange boy, and he's the kitty we've had the longest (eight years -- he's around 12 years old). We adopted him when neighbors moved away and abandoned him. Their loss was our gain. He is a precious boy. He's Alpha Cat -- protector of our little pride of fe-lions. He's a gentle giant and sweet and laid back. He loves to be rubbed and combed, and his love of combing is a good thing because of his Fluff Quotient (combing helps prevent hairballs). He loves to be close by hubby and me and enjoys lying on my feet when they're propped on my desk.
Marilyn MonREOW is our white female kitty (she has one blue eye and one gold eye), and she showed up as a stray cat on our back porch going on three years ago. The vet estimated her to be an older kitty, and she's probably 13-14 years old now. She's in great health. She's a major lap cat -- I call her my Velcro Cat because she loves to snuggle in my lap while I'm working at my desk and sleep by my head while I'm in bed.
Dorydoo is our youngish black female kitty. She is the only cat we adopted as a small kitten (going on five years ago), from a family who already had too many cats. So we consider her a rescue, too. She's a kitty genius. She can open doors, cupboards, and if she had opposable thumbs, she'd probably take over the world. She likes to snuggle in my lap and make air biscuits (flexing her paws in the air when she's happy, contented, and purring).
MaoMao is our young male Snowshoe Siamese. Like Marilyn, he showed up as a stray on our back porch going on three years ago, except he was only seven months old or so at the time. He's mischievous, playful, and tries to get into just about anything and everything. He, too, can open doors and cupboards, and he loves to talk. That's where his name comes from: he says, "Mao Mao Mao Mao Mao", and his little voice is adorable -- sounds like a bell ringing. He also likes to play in water, which is quite unusual for kitties!
We love them all. :)

My two boys are as different as can be. My orange Maine Coon is huge and pretty wild and naughty. My grey Persian is about the size of the Maine Coon's tail ;) and he is quiet, otherworldly and mysterious.

I love Maine Coons - they are so sweet! I had one when I was growing up. My 3 are all totally different - so I guess they form a triangle. Shadow is our little old lady. (All of ours are "mutts" BTW) Butt she is this lovely mixture of a siamese and grey tabby. Gorgeous Blue eyes, barey there stripes and the points like a siamese - so she looks like she has all these shadows all over her. But she is terribly shy, and nervous around the children and strangers so really only comes out at night and wants to snuggle, very sweet. Mischief is our Queen Cat. She is completely black and weighs maybe 5 pounds. She is the smallest. She has the cat attitude down pat. She struts around the house and walks up to you with her head held up like "you may pet me now" then after you stroke her once or twice she strides off as if to say, "that is enough - for now". And even though she is declawed in the front, she can completely cower the other two cats. Trouble is The Great Grey Slug. She is also the baby. She weighs 18 pounds and has all of her claws, and is constantly getting beat up by Mischief. She is a shelter rescue (the other two were found outside my husband's apartment & given to him by an elderly neighbor who couldn't care for her anymore - so they are rescues, too - just not from the humane society). But I think because Trouble came from the shelter, she's more needy. She's the one that wants attention the most and will flat lay ont top of me if I don't pet her enough! I'm not sure if she knows she's a cat.

Hmmm wonder what is is about big cats and laying on ya. That's where my 18 lb Simba likes to reside, right on my chest whenever I'm in a reclined position. He's even taken to going to the bedroom and crying for me to come to bed so he can lounge on me. Guess I'm good for something...hahahahahahah Here's my handsome one sitting on the shelf I made for him in the bathroom. He used to walk across the shower curtain rods and one day he slipped and started crying for help in his most pleading meow and was holding on by his front legs suspended in mid air. I was so glad I was home to help him. So I put the shelf up so he could be up there and be safe. [url= [/url]

Isn't it nice to be wanted....sometimes at least. The thing I like least is when they decide to play chase in the middle of the night and it's right over the bed where I'm sleeping.

We call that the zippy zoomies, right over our heads, down to the floor back up the foot of the bed, and on and on. Once they wake us up they curl up and go to sleep. Then give us the evil eye if we wake them. I think I want to be a cat.

I've often thought I'd like to be a cat. They curl up in a warm spot and sleep when ever they want.
