Jellyroll, I was probably in a relationship with someone who was intent on subtly changing my mind and making me want kids (it's happened three times now in the last ten years)! As I've said in other posts though, I'm no longer really looking, partners don't automatically guarantee happiness, I'm focussing more on making myself happy in life now and hoping that the right person walks into my life someday. Later today I'm off to rejoin the gliding club to start re-learning how to fly, if the weather's good I'll take my classic car and then this evening I'm going to take my guitar to the pub for the jam session, I might play a bit of piano too. I've so many friends, hobbies and interests that I'm rarely bored, life's good!

Wow, its really nice to talk to all of you. I had a long message, but decided to make it short. I'm realizing now that my mother has given me an awesome gift... less than a year ago, she sat me down and explained that having a child is a lot of work, and that I don't have to have children. She did this in a way that left no doubt of her love for me. That woman is amazing, and she has set me free. I've dated two guys since who were dead set on having kids. Both relationships have ended, and both are happy with their bachelorhood. I am learning to write my own rules. Feeling like I needed a reason not to have kids, I would say how much work and money they are, how hard it is to raise a good kid. People really don't think you should consider these things too heavily. They reassure you that you are amazing and will do a great job. But other people don't raise your kids. I'm happy with the life I've chosen right now... I'm grateful for the ease with which I can choose my lifestyle. I am happy to see people such as yourselves, who are willing to share your perspectives. The next time I see a CF person or couple, I'll smile at them for ya ;)
