I added 2 angels to my 29. The stocking list for that tank right now is

2-koi angels
1-pair german blue rams
3-otocinclus
1-soon to be removed neon dwarf gourami

I want to add some schooling fish if I can...but it has to be something big enough that the angels won't eat them when they get larger...and yet small enough not to cause an overload.......nice challenge I think ! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Hi everyone! I decided I will start posting my questions on my new tank in here. Here's the setup:

46 gallon bowfront
a whisper 60
8" bubble wand connected to a 3 W air pump
a 200 W heater (I think)
6 danios
various silk plants/decorations
thermometer
seachem ammonia alert

I have just bought some Bio-Spira to help cycle the tank. Have no clue what I eventually want. I know I want more danios (I have 3 zebras, 3 leopards. I eventually want 8 of each).
I want some bottom dwellers that don't need live plants (I was thinking about some cories?)and I want some top dwellers (maybe some common hatchets). I would love to hear everyone's opinions on stocking...

Emg, your angels are beautiful!

Chickie, my brother-in-law came for Thanksgiving and he happens to have a 55 gallon that he will sell me for $50... he said it just needs a stand! I didn't say yes, but heard hubby telling him we would come one weekend to pick it up! Now hubby is doing that grumbling (lol...I just think he has to act put out so I will dote on him) "where is this tank going". My son has a 10 gallon and says he will trade me it for my 29 gallon. Ha, I told him fat chance!

I don't know much about the hatchet fish but I would be interested in hearing more about them as well!

Hubby saw some black sharks at the lfs and was really interested in those. Can anyone tell me about them? I am afraid they will be aggressive fish but the store employee said they would get along with community fish. I know you can't always trust what they say though!

Here is some info I found on red tailed black sharks. I don't know if this is what you were talking about, but this site has great info!

http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/redtail.xml

Here's some more info....I think this is more what you're talking about

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=1083

Here is an exerpt:

Shark is a very active, somewhat aggressive fish that is not suitable for the community aquarium.
HTH!!!!

I have just finished putting the rest of the ornaments in. Here are the big ones I have in...

I also have lots of plants a small terra cotta pot. I have taken pictures and may post them if they turn out well (it was a disposable camera) What do you think? The pots aren't currently connected to an air pump, but maybe later...

I am planning on adding some cories. I was thinking either nanus or emerald greens....I am going to get 6 total. Do they all need to be the same kind or would 3 of each be good?

Love your ornaments for your tank! I really like the one with the mushrooms on it.

Yep, the second one is the shark he was wanting. Have to tell him no sharks for him!

We have 5 cories in our tank. 2 of them were in my sons tank and are full grown (peppered cories) and they hang together all the time. The younger ones are a albino, a peppered cory and a network cory. They all hang out together. The two older cories pretty much hide in one spot until feeding time and then will come out for a bit, but they don't do a whole lot.

Thanks! I liked them! The danios seem to like them too, they swim in and out of them.
I have decided on Julii cories (maybe 6) and some Bolivian Rams (4?) Does anyone have any thoughts?

Sorry about the shark...That just means he has to find another fish he likes, though...which is fun!
