Greetings all!

Despite modern technology do you ever find yourself reverting back to the old fashioned way of doing things?

Today I just didnt feel like dealing with the exhaustive list of to-do items on my yahoo calendar, I just wanted to focus on priorities, so based on total recall I handwrote a to-do list on paper. When I double checked my yahoo calendar Id only missed one priority item! Now I have a short list to focus on for the day.

A piece of paper, a pencil and memory are powerful tool!

Do you still handwrite your to-do list? Please stop in and share!

I still hand-write mine. Even though I work in technology and have a wide range of digital tools I could use to manage my work, and lots of other people do swear by those things, I'd rather write it down on paper. Helps me remember better!

The back of a used envelope is my favourite place to write my 'to do' lists. However, I find that I have to be careful not to write down too many things 'to do.' A lot of the stuff we think we have to do, I find, isn't really necessary at the end of the day. No matter how important we think it is earlier. I've missed doing many 'to do' things on my lists and have found the sky has not fallen in and the world has gone on, and the need 'to do' some things has sometimes disappeared.

Redfrangipani,

Ahhh you touched on something key. Sometimes life is such that To-Do lists are not helpful and do nothing accept produce guilt. I went through this when I was working from home with a new born and toddler. I ditched the To-Do list and instead worked with a Have Done list. I wrote down everything I DID do not what I didnt do, and I felt so much better.

I still do that from time to time. But my ultimate goal was to get back to the To-Do list. I find that they are invaluable when reaching for long range goals and planning. And I keep various sorts of To-Do list. I have one for Bella with hundreds of article ideas and shorter to-do lists for each of the other publications and magazines I write for.

Foodlover626,

I've read that handwritten To-Do lists are best. Specifically you are supposed to write out long hand tonight what you have to do tomorrow. I did that for years and years using a Franklin Planner.

Then I discovered Outlook and then yahoo. So now Im a type, point, click and shift sort of organizer now. The bad thing about using technology is if it fails, youre up a creek. I keep my To-Do list on the computeryahoo. So one day the entire block didnt have the internet. So I had to go all the way to the public library to make sure I wasnt going to miss any deadlines. LOL.

I love writing on paper but my handwriting is really bad, so bad that I often cannot read myself or at least I have a hard time reading myself.

hi Nancy!
You could always practice your handwriting for about 15 minutes a day. Google this: Palmer handwriting . You'll be surprised how fast your skills return and very soon you will get back to doing something you love. smile
