As the fires roar through Kelowna many of its residents are forced to evacuate their homes leaving behind their belongings and their lives. Many locations have set up drop off boxes where people can donate items such as food, toilet paper, clothes as well as other items for the families in need, but some buisness' have opened their doors even wider for those in need. Sun Peaks resort is a great example of providing a glimpse of hope and a kind hand at this horrible time. The resort has graciously been providing those evacuated from their homes with free place to stay. While fire fighters have been working around the clock to get the now four fires under control more and more Kelowna residence watch and wait to see if they will be the next in need to evacuate. Many are trying franticly to find housing for their horses and other animals refusing to leave until their beloved animals are safe.

You can hear constantly updated info on the fires by listening in on the Kelowna Radio Station. and clicking on the "listen now" button on the top left hand corner.
