I personally checked aromatherapy pillow as something new I would like to try. The name alone sounds soothing and relaxing, makes me want one!

I know from years of migraines that is takes dark, quiet and my prescription (Relpax at this point) in order to kill one. Sometimes using a hot or cool (it just depends on what worls at the time) washcloth over my eyes is soothing, too. I will often put my pillow over my eyes - the extra weight just seems to help for some reason.

But aromatherapy does not sound good to me. Smells tend to make me sick, even the "soothing" ones like lavendar and chamomile are too perfumy and will make me too nauseous.

If I could ever invest in one of those sensory deprivation tanks - that would probably be the first place I would head to! wink

How about acupuncture Michelle? I have read allot of good stuff about it, seems to be a solution for some people. Not sure I would do it personally though. I have known people who have done it for smoking or weight loss and it works for a while then the old habits come back. Acupuncture for pain management may be different confused

yes same here. I just wrote an article about Botox injections for headaches, I learned alot from the research about Botox. Not sure I would do that option either. Paralyzing my muscles just doesnt sound appealing to me. Too bad I didnt think to add it to my poll, darn lol

I used to get migranes but that has stopped now for a few years. It was so bad sometimes I had projectile vomiting. ANYthnig might have triggered one. But they seemed to just come out of nowhere. Personally, I think it was a hormonal thing. The best remedy I came to use regularly and it really DID help was plain old Excedrin. I tried prescription meds but didn't have much success. Sometimes a heating pad RIGHT on my head was the only way I could get any sleep. I tried cold but that made the pain a lot worse. I don't think we can actually Trigger one. It has something to do with what's going on in our body. On occassion NOW, while on computer, I will get the "Eye-Thing" That used to herald one coming on. IF I just reduce the Brightness and Contrast on my monitor immediately it stops. Visual triggers, I think have much to do with it too since our optic nerves are so close to the brain. I found too prolonged periods of FEAR and anxiety would bring one on. Especailly FEAR.

Try a warm, gentle massage on the forehead with rosemary oil for reducing headache.
