There is a whole genre of books, probably started by Rabbi Zelig Pliskin (who I think has short videos on aish.com ). I hesitate to categorize it. It's probably as close to pop psychology as we get but it's so much more than that based on deeper truths.
It's funny. One day I read an article in Oprah based on Eckhart Tolle, whom I find quite disagreeable. An important point of his is how ephemeral happiness is, and one might not want to waste too much time pursuing it. Then the next day I heard a lecture from a visiting rebbetzin on ... happiness, and how true happiness comes from being spiritually grounded and IS lasting.
