all over it? I haven't Journaled for a long time. I stopped because I felt I had said enough. BUT a trusted friend read parts of it and said "This could be a book!" How can one know that? It did start out as a Journal but with so many flashbacks it sort of took on a life of it's own. It's not really a story, just a bunch of small ones all woven together. I am not a big novel reader. I read mostly research and referrence stuff, always have, so I'm not too familiar with the structure of actual novels.

Wow, that's pretty neat! I always think of my writing as just so much drivel. The thought of writing for publication must be utterly intoxicating! Since you're used to research, I would suggest that you possibly start by researching about submitting something for publication. I have heard that Writer's Market is a good source. You'll have a lot of decision-making just starting out; for instance, would you plan on doing it as a memoir or making it into a work of fiction? Would you publish it in a journal format or rewrite it in more of a story or narrative form? You'll also need a thick skin for dealing with editors! :-)

It's easy to submit yuour files to Lulu and get your manuscript back as a hardback book - if you can show publishers you have something your friends/contacts want to read more of-you stand a chance of getting them interested in it - good luck

(If you want to learn more about how I did the ebook publishing with Lulu,I wrote about it on my writing website:)
