OK - one of my pet peeve's in the new Transformer's movie is that BumbleBee all of a sudden does not have a voice again.

He had to speak through radio and songs in the 1st movie then at the end was given James Earl Jones' voice, and now inexplicably can only speak through the radio again. They gave a really lame excuse as to why this was so, but it didn't really fly.

Incidentally I like BumbleBee speaking through the radio much better - he has more personality this way.

But one thing that really annoyed me was: why in the workd would they give such a hot car like Bee the voice of James Earl Jones? I mean Bee has attitude. He "lubricated" the agent for Pete's sake.

JEJ is a regal voice - he can play a god or a king. It would be like giving Bee Sir Anthony Hopkins or Ian McKellan's voice. They just don't fit the personality.

See, I'm thinking if Bee has to have a voice, give him someone like Samuel L. Jackson, Ice T. or Vin Diesel - a voice with Attitude!

Who do you guys think should be the voice of BumbleBee?

Oooo, I thought of 2 more

Kevin Grevioux (Raze from "Underworld" - he has that gravel deep voice that just awes me)

and Michael Clark Duncan from "The Green Mile" - his voice might be too smooth though.

I discounted Billy Zane, Brendan Frazer, and Dr. Dre all because their voices were too smooth.

I kinda think that JEJ was a good voice for the bee master but if I had to say a step up into a better more appropriate voice, then I would suggest the following;

BRUCE WILLIS- :-)

Nick Nolte

James Caan

Sam Elliot

Bruce Willis might be cool -

James Caan always sounds like a gangster (like an old time gangster), though - like a "wise-guy", hard to imagine Bee as a wise guy.

Nick Nolte - can't really pull up his voice

Sam Elliot I keep coming up with "Southern" - a Southern Bee - hmmmm, maybe if he were a truck

Sam Elliot seems to pull off some good roles over the years, even if not considered western so I figured his attitude would reflect nicely in the bee.

James Caan has played more than wiseguy roles so I didn't look at it that way.

I agree with you on Nolte

DOn't get me wrong - I love Sam Elliot and James Caan for the movies that they are ine, but I just have this very picky ear (comes from all those years of vocal training).

If Bendan Frazier or Billy Zane could somehow make their voices "gruffer" and not so smooth (they are 2 of the smoothest men in Hollywood I can think of, just lullaby me)

But they have great, young voices - just need to be rougher.

OK - I've got 2 more - how about?

James Marsters (Spike from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer")
or
Terrance Zdunich (GraveRobber from "Repo; the Genetic Opera")

These two guys can pull off sultry, sweet, AND mad as He**

I may have to get a poll going here...

Joe Pesci? No more attitude than Joe Pesci lol

Gary Sinise?

Val Kilmer?

Joe Pesci definitely has the 'tude, but his voice is a littel high I think.

Duwayne Johnson has another one of those really "smooth" voices.

Gary Sinise is a thought - I really like him!

Val Kilmer, too.

Darnit! I'm gonna have to redo this poll!
