In the past couple of weeks, I've had a few hits on my site from people searching whether not parents have the right to force their pregnant teen to have an abortion. Turns out, as parents, we don't have as many rights as we may think. To find out more, read my article, Rights of Parents with Pregnant Teens.

What do you think? Should parents have more say in whether or not their teens have babies?

If a pregnant teen decides to keep and raise a child then that teen needs to undertake all responsibilites for that decision (if the parents are unable or unwilling to help out). That said this decision should come from a supportive bit of counseling either by the parents and/or a professional. Abortion should be among the many choices that this teen will face without harsh judgement on either side. Parents that have opened a line of discussion regarding all choices - good or bad - that teens face and make will have an easier time guiding a sensible decision regarding an unwanted pregnancy. Sadly the families without such support are the ones that face these decisions without a base of communication and would be more likely to make irrational decisions by all.
