That's a good article but I think another very common tough question is "What is your biggest weakness?" It's hard to answer because you obviously don't want to scare them off. But it's become very cliche to answer by trying to spin it into something positive like "I care too much or work too hard". I've been trying to find something that isn't as important and making clear that I'm improving that area. I put more emphasis on the fact that I'm aware it's a work in progress instead of why it's a weakness. How have other people answered that question?

Depending on the re pore you have with the person who is interviewing you. I think there is several different ways to answer this question. For me, my weakness is also my strength. I tend to be a perfectionist. I can't let something go, till I have figured it out. I can put it aside, but I will always go back to it. I achieve personal gratification from figuring it out. It drives me batty when I can't figure something out or have to ask for help.

Here's one for you, I just love when someone asks this question. "Where do you want to be in 5 years?" You just want to look him/her straight in the eyes and say, YOUR BOSS. What do they really expect you to say? I want to be unemployed?

Lookingforaajob good answers and Mrs. P is exactly right. You have to take something that really isn't a negative, but make it SOUND like a negative, but all the while it's actually a positive.

Mrs. P, you're too funny smile
For the 5 yr question I usually respond that I hope to utilize the time to develop my skills in the field and advance within the company (even if in the back of your mind you are after their job...no point in letting them in on your secret wink )
If you've done homework on the company and can determine what a responsible position would be in 5 years - you can use that.

For my current position when I was asked about my weakness I was honest and said, 'I'm not a morning person.' It turned out that neither is my director and it created a bond. When asked how I deal with it basically said, 'Fake it.' I went on to explain that even though I may be having a bad day that the patrons shouldn't be affected by that. Good service shouldn't depend on how I feel.

I too hate the "where do you see yourself" question. I chose an educational goal.
