I went out to Pub 99 tonight with some friends. One of their main dishes was a cedar plank salmon! It was salmon, asparagus and mashed cauliflower. It was delicious and super healthy no matter what style of diet you choose to follow!

I had a nice glass of Shiraz (red wine) with it.

No matter where you go, you can pretty much always find healthy food without any problem.

What are your recent experiences with eating out?

Lisa, I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast yesterday...they now have a veggie skillet for breakfast..sauted mushrooms, broccoli, onions green and red peppers topped with scrambled eggs sprinkled with cheese. It was fabulous. Vegetarian and locarb.

That sounds great! A good mix of veggies, plus some protein and calcium too smile

I'm going out with the girls tonight and hoping for a seafood place! smile Crab legs and salad sounds fabulous to me!

I've also done the fast food circuit...taking buns off hamburgers and scraping toppings off pizza in a real pinch. Most everyone has some kind of grilled chicken sandwich. And Subway used to have a low-carb wrap that was really good...wonder if they still do? Ahh, found an article...guess they don't. ...
But you could stick with a salad there.

Malapert - you didn't put in the URL well but I do cover the Subway issues in great depth here -

Subway Abandons Wraps

I used to highly encourage people to eat Subway - but then they changed their wraps to high carb wraps WITHOUT WARNING which was really dangerous to the diabetics who ate them. Then after that they completely dropped wraps again without warning. I am now very anti-Subway.

I've had the Cracker Barrel veggie skillet and it's really good.

We used to eat at Subway a lot when we traveled as it was at least more healthy than many fast foods but we got sick after eating at home a couple years ago and my husband refuses to eat there anymore.

Right I agree completely, I used to adore Subway! Fresh food, good options, it seemed perfect. This whole wrap thing really soured me on them though. I've heard from several people now that they got sick eating there, which makes sense. If the people don't take good care of all that meat and such that's sitting "in the open" who knows what you could catch.

The other night my husband and I went to dinner at Golden Corral. We both love the buffet. But once I took a walk around checking out the food, nothing appealed to me. I ended up having a great big salad and a few buffalo style chicken wings. Being on low carb and not eating all that unhealthy foods you somehow lose your taste for it. Down to 247 from 289 since April.

That is awesome news Boopsie! I agree completely, I've lost my taste for a lot of junk food - which is a good thing. that is great that you had a salad as your main dish! What a wonderful way to eat!
